Students Celebrate Arab American Heritage at RMP
To celebrate Arab American Heritage Month at RMP we’re highlighting the beauty of Arab American culture and identity at our schools. Students like Yousef and Zena wanted to share their experiences as Arab Americans. They feel that, among their peers and educators at RMP, their culture is celebrated. They also encourage others to experience their culture with curiosity, rather than feeling intimidated by it.
Yousef and Zena reflect on visits to Jordan, where their family is from. The culture, food, and authentic experiences of home made them both appreciate their culture even more. Here at RMP, our students are encouraged to celebrate their culture, and they feel comfortable and proud of their identity.
While our young scholars Zena and Yousef aren’t fluent in Arabic, they shared that their classmates often encourage them to keep learning the language and to teach others new words, too. The two urge readers to experience Arab culture, food, and heritage. Especially the food, says Yousef.
