Celebrating Leadership for Women’s History Month
For Women’s History Month, RMP is celebrating the women in our organization. We will highlight the many ways they show up as leaders in our movement all month. From the Executive Suite to PEAK Teachers and beyond, women at RMP model excellent leadership and inspire the next generation of women to become leaders, both in and out of the classroom.
We sat down with Yana Symone Smith, interim CEO and Partner of Organizational Impact, to discuss what it means to be a woman in leadership at RMP. Women at the organization are shaping women’s advancement and gender diversity at every level.
For Yana, leadership looks like making sure the people doing the work are seen. Yana believes one of the most important responsibilities of leadership is creating space for women across our organization to lead, be recognized, and be celebrated.
Her leadership philosophy is simple but powerful: open doors, create opportunities, and name the impact. Encourage women to take credit for their work and recognize their contributions. When women lift one another up, our schools get stronger, and our communities do too.
